Technical advice for startup brands
For start up brands and new designers we offer a consultation on how to make your first fashion collection. Starting from Initial design idea, creating pattern, toile, attending fitting, doing amendments, sampling, grading and production. We have worked with many well-established luxury and high street brands as well as new designers developing their first collections, our expertise enables us to advise which path to take to make your brand more profitable and successful.
Fashion design and fabric sourcing
After the first meeting we will get a vision of how you would like your collection to be, we will present a mood board, inspiration images and a range of designs for you to choose from. We will present different materials and trimmings.
Here at Hemline fashion studio we will help you to select the perfect fabrics for your fashion collections or if you decide to manufacture abroad we will connect you with the factory to see their range of fabrics available, this will cut the cost for fabric shipping, customs and sourcing time. We have a range of fabric suppliers to choose fabrics from for your collection.
Computer based 2D and 3D pattern cutting and grading
Pattern Cutting
We use Gerber Accumark software which is the most trusted in UK fashion business. We use Gerber for our pattern cutting, costing, marker making and grading needs.
Our pattern cutters and graders have many years experience working with top luxury and high street brands. Please give us a call to find out which brands we have worked for.
Grading to different sizes
We develop an accurate CAD based pattern grading following your sizing specifications or advising you on the most suitable grade rules for your customer target. We can print out the patterns on card or paper or offer digital files such as Gerber, DXF and Adobe Illustrator.
Creative Pattern Cutting
We use a range of mannequins to drape a perfect garment for you following the initial design idea. We do use a digitising system to make the pattern digital and grade them to sizes necessary.
Tech Packs and CAD Illustrations
Here at Hemline Fashion Studio we create tech packs for your garments to monitor the process of manufacturing and have a reference point for quality control. If manufacturing happens abroad tech pack is a must to avoid problems in manufacturing.
Digitizing
If you already have a developed pattern or patterns from previous seasons which need to be tweaked we can make them digital.
We use the latest photo digitising software I-Digit and it guarantees the best accuracy available in the current market. We will transfer your patterns, pattern annotations, drill holes and internal lines into a digital file. Please contact us to enquire more about what types of digitising we can offer. We can export the file in Gerber, DXF or Adobe Illustrator formats. Please enquire about other file formats if needed.
Toiling and Sampling
Our experienced sampling machinists have worked with wide variety of garments. Including tailoring and swimwear.
After pattern is completed we will create a toile which is a garment made from similar or same fabric as the final garment. When the toile is fitted and signed off we will create the first prototype-sample to be confirmed before the production.
Fit Sessions
We can manage your fit sessions in our office or to come to your premises. If we have developed a pattern for you, it’s important for us to be in the fit session to spot and advise on any changes of garments and make sure that the garments have the right fit, balance and if it’s correctly translated from your original design idea into the finished product. This stage will eliminate mistakes which could happen later on in production.
Fabric print artwork
We have an in-house fabric print designer who creates beautiful and unique prints for your chosen fabrics.
Manufacturing in UK and abroad
We offer to produce your collection in the UK or abroad, depending on your budget and quantities. We work with a few trusted factories and we are monitoring the quality control for your brand as one of our services.
